Café Madrid: the churrería for breakfast like a king in Malaga
There is practically nothing that a cup of chocolate and a few good churros won’t fix. A hangover morning, a sentimental break-up or any other slump, for that matter. If you’re in need of a traditional sugar rush, stop by Café Madrid, a century-old churrería in the heart of the city centre where breakfast is given the importance it deserves. Freshly made churros, with a crunchy and tender dough, and a thick, sweet chocolate to brighten up your day. All this in a rustically decorated establishment that preserves the atmosphere of its humble origins as a confectionery back in 1892.
Starting out as a shop with a small salon, Café Madrid soon expanded into a café, a place of passage for writers, theatre actors and journalists of the time, but also for workers in the city’s factories, as it was open 24 hours a day. In addition to the traditional Spanish breakfast par excellence, the churrería also serves all kinds of breakfasts from very early in the morning (7:30 from Monday to Friday and 8:00 on Saturdays and Sundays). It’s almost a pleasure to get up early.
